Project Profile
Project Name: Chongqing Wushan Airport
Project Address: Wushan, Chongqing
Roof area: 5500 square meters
Product Type: Hoogovens® H65/400 straight
Completion date: July 2019
Project Introduction
The terminal building of Chongqing Wushan Airport covers an area of 5,500 square meters and is a front-row terminal building. The roof adopts the structural form of foam glass insulation + SBS modified bitumen waterproof membrane + Hoogovens classic H65/400 aluminum magnesium manganese roof panel. The middle of the roof is cut along the specified curve, and the land side part is stretched and raised differently. Its architectural shape is based on the undulating peaks, the streamlined water of the Yangtze River and the elegant Wushan goddess.
As a key construction project of the National Civil Aviation Administration and Chongqing during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", Wushan Airport has attracted much attention since the day of preparation. With an altitude of 1771.48 meters, Wushan Airport is currently the highest civil airport in Chongqing. Since it was launched for one year, it has passed the test of ice and snow operation for up to five months. The extreme temperature reached minus 14 degrees Celsius, and the ice was more than 10 centimeters. This extreme condition places extremely high demands on the waterproof performance and wind resistance performance of the metal roof system.
After Hoogovens Company won the bid for the metal roof project of Chongqing Wushan Airport Terminal, it organized an excellent technical and professional design team to formulate a safe and reliable solution based on the characteristics of the project through roof calculation and Rhino model modeling analysis.
Waterproof Performance
The roof of the project adopts a first-class waterproof structure. The roof panel is the first waterproof line, and it is necessary to control the rainwater to be smoothly discharged into the gutter without causing roof water accumulation and leakage. Through software modeling analysis, the roof not only flows water along the longitudinal direction of the roof panel, but also overflows the panel ribs in the horizontal direction. As shown below:
Through the control of design and construction plan, Hoogovens ensures that the direction of water flow is consistent with the direction of fastening of roof panels, which perfectly solves the problem of horizontal water flow. And at the highest point of the roof, Hoogoven's advanced molding equipment is used to produce double large ribs to ensure the flow direction of double slopes.
Anti-wind performance
This project is constructed without purlins. The hard foam glass not only plays the role of heat preservation, but also plays the role of supporting the clips. The designer determined through calculation that the distance between the clips in the length direction of the roof panel should not be greater than 500mm to ensure the wind resistance of the roof panel.
Project Summary
Standing at Wushan Airport and looking far away, you can see Qutang Gorge on the south side and Wu Gorge on the northeast side. Because of this, Wushan Airport has also become the only civil airport among domestic airports where you can enjoy the scenery of Gaoxia, Pinghu and Three Gorges red leaves. There are multiple viewing platforms outside the terminal building. Standing here, you can overlook the clear water flowing eastward, the Qutang Gorge, the Wuxia Goddess Peak, the Baidi City, the beautiful sea of clouds and the red leaves of the Three Gorges. Within a radius of 200 kilometers, there are 8 national 5A-level tourist attractions and 35 4A-level tourist attractions. Known as "the airport on the cloud".
